a useful idiot joins the fight against antisemitism
Sacha Baron Cohen is a Useful Idiot in the fight against antisemitism. Borat uses comedy to show how it's the same provincialism that causes both the antisemitism that still exists in the American heartland AND the war that the world hates, and hates Bush for.
No, stupid. Bush fights the Islamic fascists who sever Jewish heads for their version of Borat. He may have terrible diction and a terrible demeanor, and he may be guilty of all manner of other offenses, but even liberal Democratic former NYC mayor Ed Koch gives him due credit for the fact that he's clearly in the ANTI-ANTIsemitism camp, which is not always easy.
The KKK hates Bush. They accuse him of being under Jewish control. They love terror-facilitating “martyr” Rachel Corrie, and join with the Islamists. The BNP (British Neo-Nazis) loves Noam Chomsky every bit as much as Hugo Chavez does. London mayor Ken Livingston mocks Jewish journalists as being like concentration camp guards, and finds Palestinian terrorism quite understandable. Even America lost the Mohammed Cartoon wars, submitting to the intimidation and refraining from offending the sensibilities of people who like to sever heads and knock down buildings. Our universities continue to squelch even liberal Muslim dissent against the Islamist mainstream in Academia.
Indeed it would not have been as funny a movie if Sacha Baron Cohen interviewed some Muslims in Egypt, and they just slit his throat. What did denazification require in the WWII era? When did the American troops withdraw from Germany and Japan? Were we wrong or evil? Antisemitic? Please! Baron Cohen is like the Monty Python character Dennis Moore – stealing from the (reputationally) poor, and giving to the rich. Stupid bitch! Oh, but it made you rich. Guess that makes America stupid.
